The analysis of medical cannabis products in Germany provides insights into pricing, availability, origins, and product characteristics, categorized into flowers and extracts.
Medical cannabis flowers (N=490) average €10.19 per gram (±€2.25). THC-dominant flowers, the most common, cost €10.09/g, while CBD-dominant and balanced products are €11.59/g and €11.65/g, respectively.
Medical cannabis extracts (N=88) average €11.25 per ml (±€7.62). Normalized pricing shows €0.31 per mg of active substance (±€0.12).
Extracts have more balanced and CBD-dominant products, but THC-dominant ones remain the majority. Over 50% of flowers are imported from Canada, while extracts come equally from Australia, Israel, Germany, Portugal, and Canada.
Cannamedical leads in distributing both flowers (13% market share) and extracts (16% market share), followed by Cantourage, Tilray, Demecan, and Canymed.
The most common flower strains by origin are Gorilla Glue (mainly from Canada) and White Widow (primarily from Denmark).
